Work Plan
Objective I
  • Digitization of spatial and non-spatial resource data of the command using GIS.

  • DGPS based resource and PRA based socio-economic surveys for gap filling.

  • Classification of multi-date Resourcesat-1 LISS-3 and 4 imageries for the major Kharif and Rabi crop yield and ET using SEBAL algorithm.

  • Development of a spatio-temporal irri-agro informatics database of the WYC command.

Objective II
  • Assessment of irrigation water availability-crop demand in space and time for various distributory reaches for different cropping systems and seasons.

  • Water budgeting at different reaches in the canal system.

  • Predicting vegetation indices and crop yield using crop production functions for salinity, alkalinity, deficit irrigation and waterlogging environments.

  • Assessment of groundwater development and quality in the canal command.

  • Identification of resource constraints and management scenarios for addressing low productivity areas.

  • Predicting and up scaling productivity under different management scenarios to command level using GIS.

  • Delineation of areas of low productivity in the command using GIS.

Objective III
  • Development of an architectural framework of SDSS.

  • Development of SDSS with input data management, spatial database management, model management, spatial querying, scenario builder and report generator.

  • Validating, fine-tuning and implementing SDSS under different scenarios.

Objective IV
  • Field demonstrations of DSS based BMPs for enhancing productivity.

  • Socio-economic impact analysis of beneficiaries.

  • Demonstration of the developed SDSS to stakeholders.

  • Sensitization and capacity building of stakeholders.
